Our Founder & CEO
As I sit down to write this, I think about how far we’ve come and the many lives we’ve touched along the way. It’s hard to believe it’s been over three decades since Genuine Health first opened its doors as a humble health food store called Supplements Plus in the heart of Toronto’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community. Those were challenging times, in the shadow of the AIDS crisis, but they were also times of incredible community strength and resilience. Andthey informed the heart and soul of Genuine Health.
Back then, we saw how compassionate, holistic care could help to light up dark times. We learned that health wasn’t just about the absence of illness, but about nurturing a vibrant spirit despite the odds. This belief has guided every step we’ve taken since—from the products we create to the communities we support.
A lot has changed in the world since then. And while the challenges are different now – chronic illnesses, economic inequality, climate change, to name a few -- they can seem overwhelming. It sometimes feels harder than ever to find the right balance, balance in our lives and in our bodies.
But at Genuine Health, we haven’t lost faith. In fact, we’re more committed than ever. That’s why we continue to expand our offerings and develop new solutions. That’s why we are a proud B Corp, standing up for what we believe: health for people and health for the planet. We do this not just to succeed as a business, but to make a genuine difference in people’s lives and in the world we all share.
